Flood events affect seriously people, properties and environment in developing countries, especially rapidly growing urban centers. These losses mainly depends on extent of flood hazard, exposure and vulnerability. Assessment of these factors are required to understand and evaluate flood damages. Spatial approach based on GIS is largely applied to estimate the urban flood damage. Flood depth-damage function is widely used to evaluate direct damage. Flood water depth was applied as the main factor of flood hazard assessment. Land Use Land Cover (LULC) represented the element at risk. In order to assess the susceptibility of exposed assets at the contact of water, flood depth-damage functions were constructed for buildings in particular.
