Norovirus was selected as reference pathogen to represent human pathogens potentially present in domestic wastewater. In developing the exposure scenarios, the outputs from the flood simulation model and water quality simulation model were used to estimate unintentional ingestion of flood water and microbial quality of flood water using Excherichia coli counts as an indicator, respectively.
The results were presented as numbers of acute gastroenteritis cases caused by norovirus in each Flo-2D grid (categorized into three risk levels), with total number of cases in the target area.
